JuanPress Toolkit: Configuring Advanced Accordions & FAQ Toggles

Building Interactive Accordions & Toggles

Clean up long text blocks, create professional FAQs, and optimize layout space.

Long paragraphs of text can clutter your webpages and overwhelm prospective customers. The Accordion / Toggle block inside the JuanPress Toolkit allows you to compress massive sections of information—such as product specifications, shipping policies, or business FAQs—into clean, expandable rows that open smoothly only when clicked.

🧠 The Technical Difference: Accordion vs. Toggle

While they look identical visually, they behave differently depending on system rules:

  • Accordion Mode (One-at-a-time): Opening a new tab automatically collapses the previous one. This is ideal for structured FAQs to keep scrolling minimal.
  • Toggle Mode (Independent): Every panel opens and closes completely independently of the others. Multiple tabs can stay open at the same time.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Implementation

  1. Open your editor layout, click the (+) Plus Icon, and search for the Accordion block from the JuanPress Toolkit.
  2. Add Title Content: Click on the visible top rows to write your primary question, feature headline, or policy title.
  3. Insert Core Media/Text: Click inside the expandable content area below the title. This area serves as a nested container—meaning you aren’t limited to plain text. You can insert standard paragraphs, product image blocks, lists, or custom checkout buttons directly inside the fold.

⚙️ Advanced Configuration Parameters

With Website Buildy’s unrestricted dashboard access, you can manage fine technical properties in the right-side blocks block inspector panel:

  • Active Index (Default Expanded Tab): By default, all tabs are closed when a page loads. If you want the very first question or tab to be pre-expanded automatically when a user visits the page, locate the Active Index control and set it to 1.
  • Icon Customization & Alignment: You can choose from dozens of indicators (such as classic plus/minus symbols, clean caret chevrons, or directional arrows) and switch their alignment from the left margin to the right margin instantly.
  • Semantic HTML Tags for SEO: To boost your Google SEO health, you can change the title wrapper tag from standard text to semantic header codes like <h3> or <h4> without breaking your visual CSS styling templates.

💡 E-Commerce Use-Case: For high-converting product landing pages, place the Accordion block directly below your primary order area. Use it to cleanly list technical material specifications, sizing charts, warranty definitions, and return metrics to answer buyer questions right on the spot without steering them away to separate informational sub-links.
