Technical Guide: Connecting Your Custom Domain Name

How to Connect Your Custom Domain

Route your brand domain through Website Buildy’s managed Cloudflare Enterprise infrastructure.

🚀 Enterprise Infrastructure & Security Plan Perks

To guarantee bulletproof security and instant page loads over local mobile networks, all Website Buildy origin servers strictly accept traffic routed through our Cloudflare integration. Connecting your custom domain via our managed Nameservers (NS) unlocks massive built-in benefits at zero additional cost:

  • Website Plus Plan: Includes Full Edge Cache, delivering static page copies directly from global edge nodes to eliminate loading latency.
  • Website Pro & Ultra Plans: Includes full Cloudflare Enterprise Infrastructure with prioritized bandwidth routing and continuous database optimization.
  • All Managed Plans: Includes our custom Unified Web Application Firewall (WAF) to block malicious bots and DDoS attacks, plus complimentary Business Email setup (e.g., [email protected]).

Connecting your custom domain requires zero technical stress. Follow these two simple steps to activate your platform routing:

1. Input Your Domain & Open a Support Ticket

If you choose to let us manage your DNS via Nameservers (NS) to unlock these free enterprise features, first register your domain identity in your portal and request your assigned Cloudflare Nameservers:

  1. Log into your personal Dashboard and enter your custom domain name in your site setup parameters.
  2. Submit a request through our Support Ticket System.
  3. Select the Technical Support & Domains category, provide your domain name (e.g., mybusiness.com), and request domain activation.
⚠️ CRITICAL SECURITY WARNING: Do NOT point or link our backend server IP address directly on third-party portals or external DNS managers. Our origin servers strictly block unverified direct connections to stop server-level exploits.

2. Update Nameservers at Your Domain Registrar

Once our engineering team maps your domain in our Cloudflare backend, our admin will reply to your ticket with two (2) official Cloudflare Nameservers.

When you receive these entries, complete the setup:

  • Log in to your domain registrar portal (GoDaddy, Namecheap, NameSilo, Porkbun, etc.).
  • Navigate to the Nameservers or DNS Management setting for your domain.
  • Select Custom Nameservers, paste the two assigned Cloudflare Nameservers provided in your ticket, and click Save.

⚠️ Important Note on Cloudflare APO (Automatic Platform Optimization): Do NOT purchase or enable Cloudflare’s paid APO plugin. Our server architecture is already fine-tuned with server-level LiteSpeed, Redis caching engines, and native Edge Caching. Running APO on top of our engine creates direct system conflicts and breaks page loading mechanics.

⚙️ Managing Your Own Cloudflare Account: You are free to decline our managed DNS and route your domain through a personal Cloudflare account. However, doing so waives access to our unified custom WAF protection, shared Cloudflare Enterprise performance features, and complimentary business email hosting setup.

⏳ DNS Propagation Notice: Global Nameserver updates typically take between 2 to 24 hours to propagate worldwide. Once active, your free SSL Certificate (HTTPS/Padlock icon) will enable automatically.
